Privacy Policy

Your practice information is stored only on your device and is never sent to us:

• Practice scores, takes, streaks, awards and statistics
• Songs and exercises, including saved exercises and any edits, favorites or imported items
• App settings, such as instrument, tempo, tuning, note naming, language and reminders

This data stays on your device. It is removed when you delete the App or clear it within the App.

Microphone. Some features use your device's microphone to detect the pitch of the notes you play:

• Trumpet Trainer: the "Listen & transcribe" feature in the song editor, only while you are actively recording there.
• Sight Reader Trainer: the "Listen through microphone" and "Wait to hear" practice modes, and the tuner, only while a take or the tuner is running.

Pitch is analyzed on your device in real time. In Sight Reader Trainer, the audio of your most recent take is also kept temporarily on your device so you can tap Replay and hear it. That recording is replaced by your next take and deleted when you leave the practice screen. Microphone audio is never uploaded or sent to us or anyone else.

Camera. In Trombone Trainer, the optional "Arm slide (camera)" feature (Settings → Trombone) uses the front camera to measure how far the phone is from your face, so moving your arm works the slide, as on a real trombone. Each camera frame is analyzed on your device in real time to measure the size of your face, then discarded. Camera images are never recorded, stored, uploaded or sent to us or anyone else, and the App does not identify you from your face. The only thing kept is your arm-slide fit (where 1st and 7th position are for your reach), saved as a setting on your device.

The microphone and camera are optional. The rest of the App works without them, and you can decline or revoke either permission at any time in your device settings.

The App offers optional purchases:

• Trumpet Trainer: "Standard", either as a one-time purchase or as a yearly auto-renewing subscription that includes a free trial for new subscribers, and "Pro" as a one-time purchase.
• French Horn Trainer: "Standard", either as a one-time purchase or as a yearly auto-renewing subscription that includes a free trial for new subscribers, and "Pro" as a one-time purchase.
• Trombone Trainer: "Standard", either as a one-time purchase or as a yearly auto-renewing subscription that includes a free trial for new subscribers, and "Pro" as a one-time purchase.
• Baritone Trainer: "Standard", either as a one-time purchase or as a yearly auto-renewing subscription that includes a free trial for new subscribers, and "Pro" as a one-time purchase.
• Euphonium Trainer: "Standard", either as a one-time purchase or as a yearly auto-renewing subscription that includes a free trial for new subscribers, and "Pro" as a one-time purchase.
• Intonation Training: an unlock available either as a one-time purchase or as a yearly auto-renewing subscription that includes a free trial for new subscribers.
• Sight Reader Trainer: "Pro", either as a one-time Lifetime purchase or as a yearly auto-renewing subscription. The subscription includes a free trial for new subscribers.

All purchases are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We use RevenueCat to verify purchases and unlock the features you bought.

To do this, Apple or Google and RevenueCat process a record of your purchase: the product, the purchase, trial and renewal dates, and the subscription status. They also process an anonymous identifier generated by the App. We use this only to unlock the features you purchased and to restore them on your devices. We never receive your name, email address or payment card details.

Subscriptions. Billing, renewal and cancellation are handled entirely by Apple or Google under their terms. When a free trial ends, the store charges the yearly price unless you cancelled at least 24 hours before the trial ended. After that it renews each year until you cancel. You can manage or cancel the subscription at any time:

• On iPhone or iPad: Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
• On Android: Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.
• In Sight Reader Trainer: Tools menu → Manage subscription.
• In Trumpet Trainer, French Horn Trainer, Trombone Trainer, Baritone Trainer, Euphonium Trainer and Intonation Training: Settings → Subscription → Manage subscription.

If you turn on practice reminders, the App schedules local notifications on your device. They are created on your device, and no notification data is sent to us or any server.

To understand how the apps are used and improve them, we collect anonymous usage events:

• the App was opened
• a practice take or exercise was started or finished
• an exercise was saved
• the purchase screen was shown, or a purchase was completed or cancelled
• the App was shared

These events include practice details such as the instrument, style, meter, rhythm, tempo, take length and score. They also include your app language and whether you use the free or Pro version.

We use Google Analytics for Firebase, which assigns a resettable, pseudonymous identifier to each app installation. This data is not linked to your identity and is not used to track you across other apps or companies. It contains no personal information: no name, email, contacts, location, microphone audio or camera images.

You can turn it off at any time in the App's settings. In Sight Reader Trainer it's at the bottom of the Tools menu, under "Share anonymous usage data". In Trumpet Trainer, French Horn Trainer, Trombone Trainer and Baritone Trainer it's in Settings, under "Share anonymous usage data".

• We do not show ads.
• We do not collect your location, contacts, photos or browsing activity.
• We do not upload or share microphone audio.
• We do not record, upload or share camera images, or identify you from your face.
• We do not sell or share your personal information with anyone.
• We do not link anonymous analytics to your identity or use it to track you across other apps or companies.

The App is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13, or the equivalent minimum age in your country. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your practice data lives only on your device, so you can delete it at any time by clearing it in the App or uninstalling the App.

For purchase and subscription records held by RevenueCat or the app stores, you can request deletion by contacting us at trumpettrainer77@gmail.com. We will act on your request and pass it to our processor where applicable. Cancelling a subscription is done through the app store, as described in section 3.

Information exchanged with the app stores, RevenueCat and Google Analytics for Firebase is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).

Depending on where you live, for example under the EU/UK GDPR or California's CCPA/CPRA, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information, and not to be discriminated against for exercising them. We hold essentially no personal data beyond purchase and subscription records kept by our processor, so most requests relate to those records. Purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple, Google and RevenueCat, and analytics by Google. They may process data in countries other than your own, under their own privacy policies.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will change the "Last updated" date above and, for significant changes, give notice within the App or on our website.
